A perfect quiet location with freindly hosts, off the beaten track yet near the Pennine way, a great base from which to explore this lovely, unspoilt, uncommercialised part of the country.

Excellent hosts in adjoining cotttage, very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was thoughtfully equipped and wanting for nothing. This is the first time we have been in a holiday cottage, and I think we must have hit the jackpot. We will be spoilt for anywhere else.

We had a really enjoyable time at the cottage and we were made welcome. My nine year old son helped to feed the goats and chickens and he collected eggs and fed the baby goats with bottles. We visited Durham with its beautiful cathedral and castle and we had a great time at Beamish visiting the old coal mine and school. We also visited the high force waterfall and took plenty of photos. Barnard Castle, although not very far away is well worth a visit. We would recommend this cottage and may well return in the future.
